Background and purpose

The first Recruitment Bazaar took place in 2001, the main purpose being to highlight for employers the largely unutilised international competence available in the County of Stockholm.

More than 20 percent of the county’s inhabitants come from a non-Swedish background. A disproportionately large number of them are unemployed or in jobs in which they are unable to use their professional skills.

Behind the Bazaar stands a group of public authorities and representatives for the business community, with the Stockholm County Administrative Board as the linking factor.
